ACN’ll Unseat Jonathan In 2015 - Tinubu

Tinubu

National leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has expressed ACN’s strong determination to take over power from the Peoples Democratic Party-led government of President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015.
He said the ACN leadership was consolidating on its strong followership in the south-west and south-south and will extend its reach to the north to stop the PDP in 2015.
The former governor, who was in Benin to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State for a second term in office, also said the governor has made the party proud with his record of performance in his first term as governor of the state, adding that, with such performance, the ACN was poised to take power at the federal level come 2015.
But the PDP waved the threat away, saying 2015 would decide which party will win the presidential election.
Speaking at a reception held shortly after the second term inauguration of Comrade Oshiomhole in Benin City, Tinubu noted:  “I thank you for the courage, for your commitment and dedication to duty. We will take power in the centre come 2015 with this performance.
“Oshio Baba is a bundle of achievement and development vision. He is a short man but with the tallest brain and fattest vision and he took himself from an ordinary agitator to a performer. We thank you for making us proud today; in the last four years you have made us proud indeed.
According to him, Comrade Oshiomhole has made Edo State the centre of trade and development and he has swept through Nigeria like a colossus.
Other speakers at the ceremony included the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Dr. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Chief Ibikun Amosun of Ogun State, former governor of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige, and other ACN chieftains.
The governor thanked everybody for standing by him and promised that by God’s grace, together with the people and leadership of the ACN, he would remain focused and committed to take Edo State to the next level.

We shall see - PDP
Against the threat by the national leader of the ACN, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu that the party would take over power from the PDP in 2015, the PDP said it was unfortunate that the ACN leader was banking on ethnic and religious inclination to challenge the PDP.
The national publicity secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, said the PDP remained the most accommodating party in the history of Nigeria and has resisted attempts to hijack it.
“We welcome the boast of Tinubu. It is a challenge. PDP has not been rivalled by any political party,” he said. The ethnic cum religious inclination of a party is not tantamount to any political party’s vibrancy. We welcome any vibrant opposition party and whoever wins it will be better for the system. Everyone in Nigeria knows that President Jonathan has been fair in elections. 2015 will be fair and the PDP will be ready. We shall know which political party will be acceptable to the Nigerian people. It is a good challenge so that in 2015 we shall settle this once and for all.”
