Flooding has cleansed, blessed Nigeria, say spiritualists

THE devastating flood that rendered most riverine communities in the country homeless and jobless across several zones of the country has been described as a blessing in disguise by priests of river goddesses in Anambra State.

Addressing newsmen after rising from a closed-door settlement of a discord that would have led to death between two prominent female members of the river goddesses' acolytes association, Ezemili Ejele Nwakaego and Ezenwayi Ugommiri Chinyere, in Rojenny Tourist Village/Stadium Oba, leader of the body Ezemili 1 of Anam, Udoji Chigbata Edozuno, said that the flood disaster will lead to bumper harvests and riches across country for victims.

The group urged the victims to see their current situation as spiritual and beyond human understanding.

One of the members, Ezemili Anam, said they also met in Rojenny for the purpose of cleansing “abominations committed by the people just like the flood has washed away evils for good.”

He added thus: “People are crying because of damages done by the flood but I know that there is no cause for alarm.

“Those of us who are priests of the river goddess are celebrating the flood disaster because it has cleansed the land.”

Hinting that he would celebrate the disaster from the 30th of November, 2015, the Ezemili Anam whose domain was among those terribly affected in Anambra State said that “water is life” and urged all who see it as enemy to turn a new leaf.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, (a.k.a. Ogirishi Igbo).
