Naked 53-year-old man says friends set him up

A man sporting a hat but no clothes was arrested after telling a deputy his friends set him up, according to a recently released affidavit.

A Martin County Sheriff's deputy on Oct. 13 went to an address in the 4400 block of Southeast Commerce Avenue in Stuart and encountered "a naked white male wearing only a hat" in the parking lot.
The "naked white male wearing only a hat" was identified as 53-year-old David Allen Parlier.
"I noticed he had defecated on himself," a deputy wrote in Parlier's arrest affidavit.
A hat is a covering for the head that can be worn for decoration, protection, ceremonial or other reasons.
The affidavit did not state whether Parlier's hat was a beanie, baseball cap, fedora, sombrero, Stetson, Balmoral, top hat, boonie hat, cowboy hat, fez, beret, dunce cap, porkpie hat, ten gallon hat, skull cap, straw hat, sun hat, Panama hat, military helmet or another type of hat entirely.
"When asked why he was in this parking lot naked he stated he was set up by his friends," the affidavit states.
A deputy couldn't find any clothes for Parlier, giving him a garbage bag to cover himself.
A witness said Parlier came in his store naked. The witness said he yelled at Parlier to get out, and said Parlier tried to open the doors of vehicles in the parking lot.
Parlier, of the 4800 block of Southeast Salvatori Road in Stuart, was arrested on a misdemeanor exposure of sexual organs charge.
