Reuters withdraws video on Nigerian soldiers •Says it’s fake

International wired service, Reuters, on Tuesday, said it has withdrawn the video purporting to have shown Nigerian troops shooting some captured villains after discovering it was fake.
A news item posted on the site of the news agency said it had since discovered that the video was staged.
The Nigerian Army had, on Monday, denied the veracity of the video, saying that it was stagemanaged.
A spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Mohammed Yerima, denied the authenticity of the video, saying it was part of a propaganda stunt of militant sect, Boko Haram.
“Please be advised that the Nigeria story issued on November 18, reporting that a video showed Nigerian troops shooting unarmed captives, is withdrawn.
“The story is withdrawn because questions have been raised about the date and location of the video,” Reuters said.
