Robbers blow up police station, invade 3 banks in Auchi



RAMPAGING robbers, on Monday evening, blew up a police station with dynamite, killed an unascertained number of policemen and invade three banks in Auchi, Edo State.
There was no confirmation of this as of the time of filing this report.
It was learnt that the robbers started their operation at about 6.00 p.m, shooting indiscriminately to scare residents away before unleashing havoc on a police station.
Sound of the explosions were said to have rocked the town, sending shivers down the spines of residents, who ran in different directions, scampering for safety.
Soldiers, who were reportedly called in to contain the robbers and safeguard property from being further looted or damaged, were said to have asked the residents to stay indoors.
It was gathered that the soldiers had cordoned off parts of Auchi town in hot chase of the robbers, who were said to have been trapped and were engaging them in a gun duel.
