Saudi preacher beats 5-year-old daughter to death •With whips and hot metal
Afive-year-old girl has died after her father, a “prominent religious scholar allegedly beat her to death with “whips and hot metal.”
According to a Daily Mail report, Lamaa died in the intensive care unit of a Riyadh hospital in Saudi Arabia after months of suffering from broken arms, (a) skull fracture and head bruises.
Al Arabiya news reported that the child was tortured with 'whips and electric shocks' while Saudi website Emirates 24/7 claims the scholar and his new wife used “sticks and hot metals” to beat the girl.
The girl's mother told the Al Arabiya news network that the injuries were inflicted by her ex-husband who she alleged had been abusing her daughter for eight months.
She claimed he is a 'prominent religious scholar' who preaches on satellite TV channels. Lamaa's father has been named as Faihan Al Gameri by news agency EFE.

EFE says Al Gameri is a former drug addict 'who won a certain popularity in his country by appearing on television programs to relate his story of repentance'.
Speaking shortly after her daughter was admitted to hospital in April, Lamaa's mother is said to have told the Saudi daily, Al Youm: “I appeal for the authorities and human rights groups to support my quest to have my ex-husband and his wife executed for murdering (my) daughter.”
The National Society for Human Rights in Riyadh said it has opened an investigation into the allegations against Lamaa's father, according to EFE.
