STF uncovers grenades in Jos


Tragedy was averted in Jos on Tuesday when operatives of  the Special  Task  Force uncovered two  rocket-propelled grenades  behind Bass Klan Village in Bassa Local Government of Plateau  state .
Two people were arrested in connection with the incident.
The  STF, according to a statement by its Media Officer, Capt. Kingsley Egbo,  said  the  area was immediately cordoned  off and the grenades evacuated by the state police anti-bomb squad.
Egbo said the two persons arrested were helping the police in their investigation.
The statement also stated that unknown persons on the same day  set fire to three  houses  in campas village in Barkin Ladi Local Government of the state.
He said the fire was quickly put off while one suspect was arrested  in connection with the incident
He added that  gunmen attacked Shonong village in Barkin Ladi LG of the state but where repelled by the men of the task force and one of the gunmen captured
According to the statement, no casualty was recorded during the attack and the  suspects are currently undergoing interogation.
Egbo added that  a combined team of STF personnel  and operatives  of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,  conducted a raid on suspected hideouts of drug addicts in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi towns and arrested seven suspects with substances suspected to be Indian Hemp.
