7 In Police Net Over Alleged Killing At New Year Party

The police in Lagos have arrested seven persons in connection with the killing of a man during a New Year party in the Ajegunle area of the state. Mohammed Ali, ACP in Charge of Area ‘B’ Command, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, that the suspects had been causing trouble in the area even before the incident on Sunday.
``There was a party organised by some youths in Ajegunle area and our preliminary investigation reveals that there was an argument between the organisers over an undisclosed matter.
``A fight later broke out between two groups, which led to the stabbing to death of one person. ``Several vehicles parked in the area were vandalised and seven persons were arrested in connection with the death and damages,’’ Ali said.
The ACP told NAN that the suspects had been transferred to the State CID, Panti, for further investigation, while the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the public mortuary. (NAN)
