Cynthia Osokogu: Arraignment of suspected killers fixed for Feb 5

Justice Olabisi Akinlade of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has fixed the arraignment of persons found culpable in the murder of Cynthia Osokogu Udoka to February 5, 2013.
The arraignment was scheduled to hold on Thursday but the absence of one of the pharmacists, Orji Osita, stalled the arraignment before the court.
Osita was to be arraigned with three others. Those who were to be arraigned before the court included the two main culprits, Okwumo Echezona Nwabufo and Ezike Ikechukwu Olisaeloka and Ezike Nonso Ifechukwu for receiving stolen goods.
Though the main culprits appeared before Justice Akinlade, they could not be arraigned because Osita, who is said to be enjoying a bail granted him by a magistrate’s court, did not show up before the case was adjourned.
Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Ade Ipaye, had told a news conference in Lagos that all those found culpable in the killing of Cynthia would be tried for her murder based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The DPP’s advice written to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, D Department, Panti, Yaba, signed by Mrs M.B. Olaniyi for the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice had found  Okwumo Echezona Nwabufo and Ezike Ikechukwu Olisaeloka as the main culprits for the muder of Cynthia.
The duo were found culpable of offences of murder, conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to commit felony to wit stealing.
On the other hand, Ifechukwu was found culpable of receiving stolen property contrary to Sections 326(1) (2) Law of Lagos State.
