The commissioners, it was learnt, lost appetite and abandoned the food served them following the news of the dissolution.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, announced the dissolution in a statement in Ado Ekiti.
A source close to the government said the governor shocked some members of the cabinet who had had a good deliberation during the meeting, which was the first in the year.
Although there had been speculation about the impending sacking, some of the commissioners were said to have been shocked having thought that the cabinet would be dissolved later in the year.
The source told our correspondent that the governor did not dissolve the cabinet until after the meeting.
Many of them, who were seen after the meeting wore gloomy look and hurriedly left the governor’s office.
The statement read in part, “The governor thanked all the executive members for their support for the government in the last two years, adding that the dissolution and the re-constitution that would follow are aimed at revitalising the administration and positioning it for greater performance.
“This is a moment of change and transformation in all that we are doing. This is not a statement about an individual not pulling their weight enough.”
