Man beheads cousin in Nasarawa

A 26-year-old man, Averson Ambi, on Saturday night, beheaded his cousin, Mrs Naira Yohanna, at Shinge, in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, over a misunderstanding.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the cause was not unconnected with the unpalatable meal he claimed was served him by the deceased on the fateful night.
The late Naira, a 22-year-old mother of two, was said to have run into the residence of Averson’s father on Queen of Apostles School Road, Shinge–Lafia, where her head was severed by the sword.
Investigations by the Nigerian Tribune further revealed that the perpetrator was recently dismissed from the Nigeria Police in Kaduna and had since then resorted into excessive drinking of the local gin, “Ogogoro.”
Averson, after beheading his cousin, also killed his dog and a cow belonging to his father, while he equally attacked his friend and left him with multiple cuts, leading to his admission at an undisclosed hospital in Lafia.
When contacted on phone, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Micheal Ada, confirmed the incident, adding that the culprit was arrested and detained, while medical examination was being carried out on him to determine his state of mind.
