SEQUEL to the commencement of the banning of commercial motorcycles
in Kano State, a strong warning has been issued that any motorcycles
found carrying passengers within the state would be arrested and the
motorcycles would equally be destroyed.
This was contained in a statement signed on Thursday, in Kano, by the
state police command and signed by the state commissioner of Police
(CP) Mr Ibrahim Idris, a copy of which was made available to the
Nigerian Tribune.
The statement stated that a task force has been formed comprising the
Police, Joint Task Force (JTF), other security agencies as well as
state established organisations such as Hisbah, Vigilante group and
Karota, and had been jointly directed to enforce this ban with effect
from January 24, 2013 by 6 a.m.
