There is something very unique about OBJ which Nigeria’s celebrated
artiste, Omatsola Iseli, popularly called Tee Mac by his fans and all
music lovers, never fails to tell people. OBJ, he would say, is a super
stud and very prolific, sexually.
But then Tee Mac himself has many of the world’s leaders and their
wives at his beck and call. He feeds and cater to their daily needs.
Even when he put some of them on a leash, Tee Mac’s love for them never
diminishes for a second.
Interestingly too, these world leaders love Tee Mac in return. They
are very loyal to him and have served him well. They are aknowledgedly
the greatest and loyal friends the musician ever had.
Tee Mac is a great lover of dogs. Apart from focusing on a music
career that has spanned some decades, he has also not hidden his love
for the canine beasts; he has nurtured many dogs and he cherishes his
pets. Despite deaths and other dog-related challenges, Tee Mac, former
PMAN president, still has 11 dogs roaming his Okota home, a place he
built in 1983.
But one interesting thing about Tee Mac’s dogs is that they are all
world leaders; the dogs are named after Nigerian and other world leaders
both living and dead. One of the dogs, for instance, is named Obama
after the President of the United States of America. There are also in
Tee Mac’s dog collection Mobutu Sese Seko, the late president of Zaire,
George Bush, Balewa, Stella, Nefertiti, Sambo, among others .
But one dog that has given the musician the most joy is OBJ.
According to Tee Mac, who could not hide his admiration for the
Alsatian, narrated the feat the dog had performed in its 11 years of dog
age. OBJ, he disclosed, had fathered 72 puppies since he began mating,
describing him as a “super stud.”
“OBJ is a super stud,” he said, adding that the dog had been mating
since he was three, which would have been 21 years of human life.
Asked about the bitch that was so privileged to receive the
dog-eminence of OBJ, Tee Mac said both Stella and Nefertiti, named after
the Egyptian queen, were the privileged first ladies of OBJ, saying
that the super stud had consistently been mating with Stella and
Nephertiti for eight years.
But not all of OBJ’s offsprings have survived. According to the
musician, some of the puppies were afflicted with the dreaded pavo
disease and later died. “But I’m very satisfied with what OBJ has done”,
he said.
Explaining why he chose to name his dogs after world and/or prominent
leaders and not after popular cities, towns and/or streets as others
are wont to do , Tee Mac said he it was not done to disparage anyone; it
was done, he said, to express how dearly he loved his dogs, disclosing
that he used to have a dog he named after himself.
“I did not choose the names to insult anyone. My dogs are my best
friends and they are all highly intelligent. I had two guard dogs in
PMAN. One of them was called Charley Boy and the other , Tee Mac.
“When Dele Abiodun illegally took over the secretariat, they killed
and roasted the two dogs and ate them to despise me”, he alleged,
adding, “dogs are truly man’s best friends. They love you
unconditionally, if you treat them well.”
Even at its age, OBJ is still going strong. The dog has exceptional
affection for Neph (Nephatiti), especially, and Stella. The super stud
was all over Neph when the entire pack was taken for a walk during
Sunday Tribune’s visit to Tee Mac.
While outside, the dogs, which were well trained, did not bark at
strangers, not even once. But once inside the four walls of their jazz
owner’s mansion, the roars began. It was said neighbours usually never
tried to visit the musician, even when the dogs were on a leash.
