Child’s Death In Neighbour’s House Causes Furore In Kaduna

The mysterious death of four-year-old Johnson Michael has caused confusion in Kakuri, Kaduna South local government. According to report, his lifeless body was found in a covered water container inside the room of a neighbour of the victim’s family.
His death was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Aminu Lawan, who said the accused persons Jamilu, Manga Muhammed and Manga’s wife were in their custody over the incident.
The father of the deceased, Mr Michael Agada, a security officer with a company, said when he returned home on Wednesday, he met many people in his residence and knew that something had gone wrong when he saw his brother weeping.
According to him, his brother claimed that a neighbour killed his son and when he asked about the where-about of the man, he was told the man had gone out after which he said he went to the police station to report in order to effect the arrest of the alleged killers.
“My daughter said my neighbourssent her to buy recharge card, but when she returned,the deceased was nowhere to be found.
They were running up and down looking for Johnson when the same man came again and sent her to buy engine oil but she told him that she had not seen her brother after the first errand.
She however, agreed and went on the second message but before she returned, the man had locked his door and left.
“After about an hour of looking for him, the man came back and sent my daughter on another errand but by the time she came back, the wife of the man showed her where the body of my son was kept.
The man (Manga Mohammed) took my dead son and put him on my bed”, he narrated to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY.
The corpse has deposited at St Gerald Catholic Hospital Kaduna awaiting autopsy.
