Harvest of robbery suspects in Osun

An armed robbery suspect, Adewale Olusegun David, has been arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery operatives in Osun state Police Command.
This was disclosed to newsmen on Wednesday, May 22, by the State Commissioner of Police, Dorothy Gimba, at the police headquarters in Osogbo.
The police commissioner said that some suspected armed robbers were sighted in a blue Toyota Corolla car with registration number BE 185 JJN within Osogbo metropolis on May 3 at about 6.30a.m.
She added that this led SARS operatives to be on their trail until they were able to apprehend the suspect with the car in Ilesa.
The suspect was said to have confessed that the car was snatched at Jos, Plateau State, while another Toyota Camry car with registration number CU 649 LSD which he had already sold to a dealer in Ilesa was also recovered.
Gimba said that the police  were still making frantic efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects.
In a similar vein, a 22-year-old armed robbery suspect, Adesina Saheed, was also arrested by a police patrol team attached to Ilobu Division in Osun State Police Command.
According to the commissioner of police, the patrol team came across a Toyota Camry car with registration number FST 426 BH at Erin Osun area on Monday 20 at about 1.30a.m., with two men inside it.
On sighting the police, the occupants reportedly ran out of the vehicle into a nearby bush, abandoning the vehicle.
The police however pursued them and were able to apprehend Saheed. On searching the vehicle, items which included a pistol with number 4277, one locally-made pistol, six assorted mobile phones, seven Blackberry phones, two wristwatches, 12 different brands of laptops, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, a camera, six bags, nine pairs of shoes, 20 cans of body spray, 11 pairs of jeans, necklace and two laptop chargers were recovered.
In the course of investigation, the suspect was said to have confessed to stealing the car and the items in company of his gang member at large.
The items were reportedly stolen from students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Some of them were said to have gone to the police station to identify their items.
Gimba said efforts were on to apprehend the other member of the gang.
Another robbery suspect, Babatunde Akinyemi, has also been nabbed by SARS while different items were recovered from him.
Babatunde and three others had allegedly robbed one Ajayi Mayowa at Zone 9, Dada Estate, Osogbo, on January 7 this year, dispossessing him of items including nine Blackberry phones, one Nokia phone, two gold necklaces, four laptops, two i-pads, N157,000.
Other items recovered from the suspect after his arrest on May 15 include a gold colour Toyota Camry car with registration number LSR 596 EU which was said to have been retrieved from Ibadan, and one Nissan Murano jeep with registration number EU 893 SMK belonging to his friend who came on a visit, which was recovered from Ikoyi area of Ogbomoso.
