Robbers attack hotel, kill policeman, manager

A mobile policeman, attached to a hotel was early Monday killed and another one injured armed men, suspected to be robbers stormed a hotel, located at the Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos State.  
Eye witnesses’ accounts said that the maintenance manager of the hotel, Kehinde Ogunkoya was injured during the attack on Regia Luxuria Hotel along Alimosho Road in Iyana Ipaja.
Reports have it that the hotel manager later gave up the ghost at an unnamed hospital , where he was rushed to
it was also gathered that a team of armed robbers had around 2:15am,  on Monday morning invaded the hotel and overpowered the security men on guard.
The unidentified  mobile policeman, who was  on duty at the hotel was killed , while the hotel maintenance, Ogunkoya was shot by the armed robbers
The hotel management quickly sent a distress call to a convoy patrol in the area and the policemen raced to the scene, only to be confronted by the armed robbers.
immediately the robbers sighted the policemen, they opened fire on them.
The policemen retaliated and a fierce gun battle ensued between the two groups, leading to serious injury to an assistant superintendent of police
Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the armed robbery attack, adding  that the police had begun an investigation into the incident. She further stated that she had not been informed that the manager had died.
Braide said that it was after the armed robbers had escaped with bullet wounds  by scaling the fence of a nearby building , that the police discovered the body of the deceased policeman.
