Robbers kill policeman, injure three other cops



A policeman was killed and three others critically injured after they were attacked by armed robbers at the Bajulaiye area of Shomolu, Lagos State.
It was gathered that the policemen were, until the incident attached to Alade Police Station in Shomolu.
They were on routine patrol in the area when they ran into the heavily armed robbers.
The deceased policeman has been identified as Corporal Inyang while the wounded officers were identified as a constable, Monday Efoma,   Sergeant  Ogoigbe Egugoje and one another policeman, his name yet unknown.
The injured policemen were rushed to General Hospital , Oguntolu , from where one of them was referred to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital
An eye witness said that armed robbery activities had been on the rise around Fola Agoro axis.
The eye witness further said that the armed robbers must have taken the policemen unaware as they opened fire on them.
Efforts to get the reaction of the image maker in charge of the state police command, Ngozi Braide were not fruitful as calls to her mobile phone were not answered as at press time.
