WADA’s convoy kills okada rider, passenger

A  nursing mother was reported to have  been knocked down by an ambulance attached to Governor Idris Wada’s convoy on Sunday.
The woman was returning from Sunday service and was on okada when the ambulance, which was left behind by the governor’s convoy, who was returning from Odu, in Dekina Local Government Area  where he had gone to monitor the council poll, was trying to catch up.
The ambulance rammed into  the okada rider with his passenger, a woman and crushed her  from behind and died instantly.
Luckily,  however, her three-month-old babay was said to have survived the incident.
The okada rider, who sustained injury  and was said to have been immediately rushed to a private clinic, equally  died on Monday .
The government’s reaction  to the incident  stated that the ambulance was not in the convoy of the governor when the accident occurred.
 Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mr Jacob Edi, informed  that the accident occurred when the okada rider conveying the woman suddenly ran into the  expressway.
Jacob Edi, in a  statement, said immediately the governor was briefed in his residence about  the sad incident,  he expressed shock and ordered that the child and the okada rider be taken to the specialist hospital and be  given the best medical attention.
 Meanwhile, the child was said to be in a stable condition.
