Fayose escapes death by whiskers

FORMER Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayo Fayose, escaped death by whiskers Tuesday night, in Ado Ekiti, as some suspected hired thugs, who had been on his trail, shot his car.
According to a press statement by the Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation (AFCO) and signed by the Campaign Director General, Mr Owoseni Ajayi, Fayose, who was coming from Ado Ekiti  to Afao Ekiti, his hometown at around 9pm was trailed by a white colour Hilux with green plate number to Fayose Housing Estate at Afao Ekiti road.
Fayose’s driver was able to detect a vehicle trailing them and immediately alerted the former governor.
The driver immediately increased the car’s speed and when the assailants, who were already hanging out of the Hilux vehicle saw that they could not catch up with the speed of Fayose’s car, shot four times at the car.
However, seeing that Fayose had arrived Afao, the Hilux turned back.
Earlier in the day, Fayose had received a call from somebody, who called himself Solar, telling Fayose that he (Solar) was a life waster and that Fayose should expect a tough time ahead 2014 election, but the former governor took the message for granted.
Fayose is a leading PDP governorship aspirant for the 2014 governorship poll.
The AFCO, therefore, said it was raising the alarm because of the recent killing of Ayodele Jeje at Erijiyan Ekiti, over which the ACN chairman, Chief Jide Awe, had been charged to court.
Owoseni Ajayi accused the ACN-led government of promoting violence in the state to scare the opposition parties.
He, therefore, called on the police to take appropriate action before the ACN turn the state into a war zone
