The pupil at Oakmeeds Community College, West Sussex, was told to take the wig off by a teacher because it was 'not cold in the school' and she felt so humiliated that she has not wanted return.

Patrick Coppeard, 49, a former managing director at Merrill Lynch, conned friends out of more than £5.4million in a Ponzi scam
A retired City banker who cheated churchgoers out of millions in a vast fraud told one victim over the phone: ‘God has told me to give you a ring.’
Over five years Patrick Coppeard collected nearly £5.4million, most of which he blew in online gambling while trying to make up for losses.
When he finally handed himself into police and was asked how much he had left in his account, the former broker for investment bank Merrill Lynch replied: ‘Zip-a-dee-doo-dah.’
The married father of three, a former magistrate, has now been jailed for six years after admitting a single charge of fraud by abuse of position.
He had already moved out of his £1.25million house in Loughton, Essex, and into a more modest home near Harlow. Victims, many left virtually penniless by the scam, complained yesterday that the sentence was ‘pathetic’.

Social workers and police found squalid conditions in the family's home and the boy had written 'save me' on one wall in an apparent cry for help

Scorned: Mercy Ogbedo, 45, outside London's High Court, who has been told to pay her billionaire ex-husband's £100,000 legal costs even though he was already married when they wed
A woman who claims she was duped into a wedding with a billionaire who was already married has been ordered to pay him £100,000, a court heard yesterday.
Mercy Ogbedo believed she married shipping magnate Moses Taiga in an elaborate ceremony in Nigeria where her feet were washed by village elders and a dowry was paid for her as a ‘bride price’.
The couple had twins together, but Mrs Ogbedo then spent a decade pursuing the tycoon for financial support through the British courts – only to be told she would not get a penny because their wedding ceremony was invalid.
Instead, the 45-year-old of Finchley, North London, was ordered to pay 80 per cent of Mr Taiga’s legal costs for a series of complex court hearings, leaving her with an estimated £100,000 bill for lawyers’ fees.

POLICE BRIBERY IN NIGERIA; Confirmed: Our foreign aid fuels corruption - Official watchdog's verdict on aid spending that Cameron has defiantly ring-fenced

Billions poured into foreign aid by Britain is doing harm, casting doubt on the PM's pledge to spend 0.7% of national income on overseas aid
The billions Britain pours into foreign aid are actually doing harm by making corruption worse in many parts of the world, a damning report reveals.
It says projects funded by UK cash are increasing opportunities for bribery.
In some areas, they are even pushing poor people ‘towards corrupt practices’. After we spent millions on a scheme to tackle police bribery in Nigeria, locals said they were even more likely to have to pay backhanders, the report found.
It concluded that huge amounts of UK aid money is being wasted because we are either funding corrupt programmes directly or not doing enough to tackle the culture of bribery in many countries.

An imam accused of conducting nearly 600 sham marriages between Muslim men and European brides has walked free from court in the second case to have been catastrophically bungled by Home Office officials in a week.
A judge ordered charges against Mohammed Mattar to be dropped after paperwork blunders meant that the case was not ready on time.
Details of the fiasco emerged yesterday, only days after ministers were left red-faced over the collapse of Britain’s biggest sham marriage case against a vicar amid allegations of serious misconduct by border officials.
Dropped: A trial of an imam accused of conducting almost 600 sham marriages has collapsed after an alleged bungle by the Home Office. Mohammed Mattar - pictured at an earlier court hearing - had denied the charge

The collapse of two such high-profile cases in a short period of time raised new questions about the management of Britain’s immigration system.
And it will revive calls for ministers to spend more on managing the nation’s borders.
It follows the publication yesterday of a damning report by a group of MPs about growing asylum backlogs, ‘lost’ illegal immigrants and the write-off of some £1billion of taxpayers’ money on failed IT projects.

Health of boy attacked by dogs worsens

Omonigho
It appears the condition of four-year-old Omonigho Abraham, who was attacked by two dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State about a month ago, has worsened in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja where he is currently receiving treatment.
PUNCH Metro learnt from his father, Odia, that Omonigho’s scalp which was torn off by the German shepherd dogs during the gruesome attack, had not healed and had been giving off an offensive odour.
He said this had given the family serious concern.
Odia told our correspondent on Wednesday that attempts to get the medical report of his condition had also been frustrated by some medical officers in the hospital.
He said, “My boy still complains of pains in different parts of his body. Also, when they open the bandage on his head, you will see that there is no much difference. It’s still like the first time the incident happened.
“In fact, for up to two weeks no consultant or doctor attended to him, and his head started smelling.
“We have been told he may still have to be admitted for six months or up to one year, for the doctors to do a skin-grafting surgery on his open skull. They will cut skin from parts of his body, to cover up the skull.”
He added that he had also continued to foot the bills of the boy, despite the instruction of the state government to the hospital management not to collect any money for his expenses.

‘How armed policemen watched dogs eat my son’s scalp’

‘How armed policemen watched dogs eat my son’s scalp’ The father of a fouryear- old boy, who was attacked by dogs in Igando area of Lagos, Abraham Odia, has explained how he nearly lost his son to the animals. Odia said it was shameful that seven armed policemen invited to rescue the boy could not go near the dogs. This was even as the management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) asked Odia to exercise patient, saying it would take a while for the little boy to fully recover from the severe injuries he sustained in the attack. For almost two hours, the four-year-old Isaac Omonigho Odia was on September 25 mauled by two wild dogs owned by his parents’ landlord, right in their living room.
The residents and policemen watched helplessly as the dogs devoured his scalp. Odia said the attack occurred around 5:15pm. He said: “The dogs emerged from the cage where they were supposed to be locked up, and took after the children. They scampered up stairs. The dogs already smelt blood and doubled the chase. “Two of the boys, while trying to escape, had to jump from the first floor. They landed with fractured legs. Isaac was trapped and the dogs ate him for one hour 15 minutes till it got to his skull. The alarmed neighbours called on the police at Igando Police Station. Seven came with guns; they couldn’t rescue the boy.

Our correspondents gathered that the development made banks to move their cash to Yola, the state capital.

Residents said they saw a large number of insurgents at Mararaba, a town about seven kilometres from Mubi.

The seven-month pregnant widow, Mrs Ini Abasirim, said it would be difficult to take care of her four children and the fifth one on the way. The widow made the appeal yesterday at her father-in-law’s home at No 4, Jimoh Meji Street, Itire, where friends and relatives had converged to mourn the conductor.
The 44-year-old Abasirim was crushed to death by vehicle belonging to LASTMA officials on Monday. Witnesses claimed that LASTMA vehicle blocked the commercial bus, while an official held the deceased, trying to force into their van. The conductor was refused to go inside the bus, when the official behind the wheel, suddenly drove off. The victim fell down while the vehicle crushed his head. But LASTMA said yesterday that its personnel were not responsible for Abasirim’s death. “Some policemen attached to the agency were trying to arrest a commercial bus who contravened traffic law.

Revealed: The best sex positions for women with a bad back

Scientists have mapped the best positions for women suffering back pain to have sex.
Despite the popular belief that 'spooning' is the best position for those suffering aches and pains, this new study dispels that theory.
The researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada found depending on the type of low-back pain a woman experienced, doggy style or the missionary position were the best to ease pain.
Their findings - part of the first-ever study to document how the spine moves during sex - found 'spooning' was among the worst positions.
A new study by scientists at the University of Waterloo in Canada documented exactly how the spine moves during sex. They found contrary to popular belief 'spooning' is not the best position for those with back pain

The new recommendations, published in the European Spine Journal, come after comparable guidelines for men were released last month.
Natalie Sidorkewicz, who led the study, said: 'Traditionally, spooning was recommended by physicians to all individuals with back pain because it was thought to reduce nerve tension and load on the tissues.
'But when we examined spine motion and muscle activity, we found that spooning can actually be one of the worst positions for certain types of back pain.'

But their lovemaking came to an embarrassing end when the man was unable to extract himself from the woman due to suction, it was reported.
They were forced to remain in the water until they manage to flag down a woman walking past, who offered them a towel to cover their tangled bodies as they struggled back to shore.
A doctor was called to the beach at Porto San Giorgio, Italy, but the case was so severe the couple were taken to the emergency room at a local hospital.
