Robbers killed after robbing victims heading to market

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Taraba State Police Command have gunned down three suspected armed robbers

The incident was said to have occurred on August 21, around 530am along Bali-Garbabi road. The three men and others now at large, allegedly robbed some victims while on their way to the market.
It was gathered one of the victims was able to alert policemen, who raced to the scene and engaged the robbers in a gun battle.
In the ensuing gun duel, three of the armed robbers were shot dead while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
The state Commissioner of Police, David A. Akinremi, said that a locally fabricated brownie pistol with seven rounds of .75mm ammunition and charms were recovered from the suspects.
It will be recalled that this armed group has been operating along this axis particularly on market days and has been on the Command radar until they met their waterloo.
The CP said: “Members of the public are enjoined to watch out for people with gunshot injuries and report immediately to the nearest police station.”
