Family, friends remember DIG Haruna, one year after

FAMILY members and friends of the late Deputy Inspector General of Police, John Haruna, who died in a helicopter crash, will today hold a memorial service for the late police chief.
It will be recalled that the late DIG Haruna and three other police officers died on March 14, 2012, while on official duty in Plateau State.
Nigerians have since been anxious to know the outcome of the investigations into the crash, following public concern on the report of how the police chopper crashed.
President Goodluck Jonathan has also been urged to immortalise the late Haruna. A frontline crime and security analyst and a close friend of Haruna, Mr Folorunsho Atta, while speaking with Sunday Tribune urged the security chiefs to fish out the perpetrators of the “wicked act.”
“The IGP and his SSS counterpart must conduct a discreet investigation that will unmask those responsible for the mishap,” Atta stated.
