JTF uncovers another bomb factory in Kano

THE Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kano, on Thursday, arrested four terrorists and discovered another bomb factory, at Gaida Ajawa along Kano western bye pass, where six AK-47 riffles, 15 handheld improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and 189 rounds of ammunition were discovered.
This is just as JTF warned that security operatives would go a step further in not only destroying any property which is found to accommodate terrorists but would also arrest the owners of such properties, treating them as accomplices even if they do not reside in the said property.
According to a press statement, signed  JTF spokesman, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, made available to the Nigerian Tribune, on Thursday, revealed that other items discovered included 11 bags of fertiliser, 200 empty containers of assorted beverages drinks, wires and other materials for making IEDS.Captain Iweha revealed that one FN rifle, one  general purpose machine gun (GPMG), one SMG rifle, one pump action rifle, one PPK pistol magazine, two smoke gun, 43 rounds of 5.56mm SMG ammunition, two containers of liquid chemical substances and eight rounds of 9mm ammunition for PKK pistol were also found.
The JTF said that “Earlier this afternoon, the IED manufacturing specialist for the terrorists’ network in Kano was also arrested at Farm centre.
“You may have observed that there has been a rise in recent times of activities of terrorists in the state. This may not be unconnected with the influx of terrorists fleeing from Maiduguri, Damaturu, Potiskum and other havens of terrorists as a result of pressure being mounted on them by the JTF operatives in these areas.”
The JTF also decried the fact that terrorists secure accommodation easily in Panshekara, Ja’en, Mariri, Farawa, Hotoro, Sharada and other outskirt areas in the state despite appeals by the JTF to property owners to desist from renting their properties to these terrorists.
“JTF in Kano will not allow the state to be a haven for terrorists. These warnings have fallen on deaf ears. We will go a step further in not only destroying any property which is found to accommodate terrorists, but will also arrest the owners of such properties, treating them as accomplices even if they do not reside in the said property,”  the JTF stated.
