Police nab fake doctor using hotel as hospital

Ogbonna
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a fake medical doctor, at the Satellite town area of the state.
The suspect, Dr. Kenneth Ogbonna, was arrested at Fairview hotel, Satellite town, which he uses as his wards and treats patients.
When police swooped on him, he was discovered to have admitted a young patient at the hotel. The patient name was given as Nelson Ibenezim.
According to him, he was treating Ibenezim for malaria and had fixed drip on him.
Ogbonna was also said to have a Pharmacy at Marwa road, Ijegun market, Satellite town. A team of policemen from the area ‘E’ command, Festac, Lagos Stated, led by  the commander, Dan Okoro, visited the Pharmacy and discovered  a room used in treatment of patients. They recovered stethoscope and abortion apparatus.  Ogbonna runs this Pharmacy without a license.
Ogbonna was alleged to have been using the hotel for over three years, treating different patients, including the hotel guests who fell sick.
The police have also arrested the manager of the hotel, one Jarius Eje. The police are interrogating Eje on all he knows about Ogbonna. They believe that Eje knows that the suspect was a fake doctor, but had turned blind eyes for three years, endangering the lives of unsuspecting people and guests.
The Daily Newswatch gathered Ogbonna was arrested after one of the hotel cleaners went into the room where the patient was admitted and noticed that the man appeared to be choking.
The worried cleaner had expressed fears to someone in the hotel, who felt something was fishy and alerted area ‘E’ police command.
After his arrest, detectives discovered that the fears of the caller who tipped them off, was justified for Ogbonna was not a qualified doctor.
In fact, he graduated from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto State in the year 2000, where he studied biochemistry.
He later confessed to cops that he was in love with medicine and even got admission to study medicine, but dropped out after an awful performance.
After his depressing exit from studying medicine, he tried his hands on biochemistry and barely made it. He came out with a third class.
Presently, police are quizzing him. The detectives are worried about Ibenezim health status, after it was discovered that he had been in the hotel for days and had received several doses of injections and drips.
