The mysterious death of four-year-old Johnson Michael has caused
confusion in Kakuri, Kaduna South local government. According to report,
his lifeless body was found in a covered water container inside the
room of a neighbour of the victim’s family.
His death was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer,
PPRO, Aminu Lawan, who said the accused persons Jamilu, Manga Muhammed
and Manga’s wife were in their custody over the incident.
The father of the deceased, Mr Michael Agada, a security officer with
a company, said when he returned home on Wednesday, he met many people
in his residence and knew that something had gone wrong when he saw his
brother weeping.
According to him, his brother claimed that a neighbour killed his son
and when he asked about the where-about of the man, he was told the man
had gone out after which he said he went to the police station to
report in order to effect the arrest of the alleged killers.
“My daughter said my neighbourssent her to buy recharge card, but when she returned, the deceased was nowhere to be found.
They were running up and down looking for Johnson when the same man
came again and sent her to buy engine oil but she told him that she had
not seen her brother after the first errand.
She however, agreed and went on the second message but before she returned, the man had locked his door and left.
“After about an hour of looking for him, the man came back and sent
my daughter on another errand but by the time she came back, the wife of
the man showed her where the body of my son was kept.
The man (Manga Mohammed) took my dead son and put him on my bed”, he narrated to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY.
The corpse has deposited at St Gerald Catholic Hospital Kaduna awaiting autopsy.
