Mr. Muhammed Garba, an ex-convict is likely going to return to prison after he was arrested by the police for stealing a vehicle in Katsina State.
The suspect, described as a notorious car thief by the police and an ex-convict, was said to have received a stolen motor vehicles. He had just been released from Kurmawa Correctional Center, Kano State.
Our reporter heard that he was arrested in a hotel after the police responded to a tip-off.
The spokesman of the command, Gambo Isah, said: “On February 6, based on a tip-off, the Command succeeded in busting a syndicate of car thieves that have been terrorising Katsina, Kano, Kaduna and Yobe states. Nemesis caught up with Muhammed Garba of Sharada Quarters, Kano, a notorious car thief, a receiver of stolen motor vehicles and an ex-convict. He was arrested in one of the hotels in Katsina metropolis with a stolen motor vehicle, Golf III, Saloon, marked KMC 113 BE. In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to have bought the vehicle from the duo of Inusa Muhammed, 50, and Aliyu Abdullahi, 40, both of Kambarawa Quarters, Katsina. When they were interrogated, both suspects confessed to have received the vehicle from Ibrahim Mainasara, 28, of Bakiyawa village, Batagarawa LGA of Katsina State. Mainasara was traced and arrested at Rijiyar Lemo Quarters, Kano. He confessed to have stolen the vehicle from a car park in Damaturu, Yobe State. He further confessed to have stolen several cars in Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, and Katsina states.”
