‘Epidemics loom in flood affected communities’
The Imo State government has called on individuals and corporate bodies making donations to flood victims to prepare for a second phase of disaster in the flood affected communities.
The Secretary to the Imo State Government, Professor Anthony Anwuka, made the remark while receiving relief materials donated to flood victims of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of the state.
He explained that the call became necessary in view of the looming epidemics in flood affected areas.
While thanking Chevron Oil company for responding to the plight of members of its host communities, Professor Anwuka noted that the state government was not resting on its oars to ensure that the hardships of the flood victims were ameliorated.
