Merge us with Lagos State -Ogun Awori

Awori  people in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, have called on the Federal Government to merge them with Lagos State.
This call was made during a public session on review of the 1999 Constitution, held across the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Saturday.
At the meeting, which had in attendance the Olofin of Ado-Odo, Oba Lateef Akanni; member representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Babatunde Ogunola; professional bodies; trade unions; artisans; students’ bodies; non-governmental organisations; market men and women, the people contended that they have been marginalised in the scheme of things in Ogun State, hence the need for the merger.
The people claimed that they have been marginalised, despite the huge amount of money being realised as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by the local government.
They bemoaned the state of basic infrastructure in the local government area and appealed to the Federal Government to carry out the exercise in their interest.
The people also said that they would like to live with Awori people in Lagos State, in order to fight a common cause.
