LAGOS State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, called on Governor
Babatunde Fashola to fortify security around the Lagos State University
(LASU), to forestall further killing of students of the institution and
escalation of cult activities.
The assembly took the resolution following a debate on the matter brought under matter of urgent public importance by Honourable Sanai Agunbiade.
The assembly said the governor needed to beef up the security around the institution, to prevent further killing of students, following cult crisis which led to the death of another student simply identified as Kabiru.
The slain student was alleged to have belonged to a fraternity suspected to have killed a popular hip hop musician, Olaniyan Damilola, a.k.a. Damoche.
The speaker, Honourable Adeyemi Ikuforiji, while contributing to the debate, called on Governor Fashola to ensure safety of lives and properties in the institution.
