The Lagos
State Police Command has revealed that another LASU undergraduate was gunned down
on Sunday night, following the killing of upcoming star artist, Olaniyan Damilola, otherwise known as
Damoche who was killed on Thursday by unknown cult members at the entrance of
the Lagos State University (LASU).
The killing of
Damoche on Thursday, had been attributed to cult clash between Black Axe and
Buccaneers.
A police source
revealed that Damoche belonged to
Buccaneer confraternity, who were the first to kill a student outside the
school campus, said to belong to Black Axe. When Black Axe went on a reprisal attack,
they gun down Damoche.
On Sunday night,
another undergraduate, was killed. He had been identified simply as Kabiru.
It was further learnt
that Kabiru was killed by suspected Buccaneer group as retaliation for Damoche’s
death. Kabiru was killed at Abeokuta Street, Okokomaiko.
It was gathered that
a team of policemen on Sunday, visited Beno hotel, where suspected members of
cult were celebrating the killing of Damoche and had swooped on the youths,
arresting over 70 of them, who were all dragged to the Special Anti-Robbery
Squad(SARS), Ikeja, for screening and interrogation.
Police spokesperson, Ngozi
Braide who would not state the numbers of suspects arrested in connection with
the death of Damoche and ongoing violence in LASU campus, however maintained
that some arrests had been made and more arrests are still going on.
She said: “ SARS
