Security agents will fish out Hamzat’s killers – Amosun


Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has said security operatives will fish out the killers of a former Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Alhaji Toyin Hamzat.
Hamzat, who was also a former Special Adviser to the Lagos Governor on Health, was allegedly assassinated by unknown gunmen in Sagamu, Ogun State on Sunday.
According to a statement by the Governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Media, Funmi Wakama, on Thursday in Abeokuta, Amosun said this during his visit to the Aiyepe, Ogun State residence of the deceased.
The governor assured the people that security agencies had already intensified investigations into the alleged assassination of the late politician with a view to fishing out the “perpetrators of the dastardly act and ensure they faced the wrath of the law.”
The governor joined other mourners at the family house of the deceased at Aiyepe in Odogbolu Local Government Area to pray for the repose of his soul and for Almighty Allah to grant Hamzat’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the family, Alhaji Tijani Hamzat, thanked the governor for finding time to commiserate with them at “this trying moment,”noting, “seeing the governor has lifted our spirit in a way.”
Tijani said he had always known the governor as a leader who was ready to give his all to the service of humanity, adding that the state government should ensure that justice was done regarding his brother’s murder.
