Some senior
policemen from the Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, paid a condolence
visit to the Ikorodu home of the Ebun family , whose nine years old boy,
Timilehin , died after a stray bullet from a policeman hit him on Thursday.
It was gathered that the case had since been transferred from X Squad to the
State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) , Panti. A police source said
that the killing of the young boy was being treated as a murder case.
The police condolence team was led by the deputy commissioner of police in
charge of the state Criminal Investigation Department. , Mr. Sam Adegbuy, the
area commander in charge of ‘Area H’ and the image maker in charge of the state
police command, Ngozi Braide.
Adegbuyi assured the family that the case would not be swept under the carpet
as justice would be ensured and the culprit brought to book.

Ebun , prayed the police to do everything possible to ensure that justice
prevailed. According to him, it is only
after the killer cop had been fished out and charged for murder and sentenced
that justice would have been done.
In an emotional laden voice, he said: “I
want to believe the words of the deputy commissioner of police that the case
would not be swept under the carpet.”
Braide , said that the state commissioner of police , Umar Manko had ordered a
full scale investigation into the case with a view to finding the trigger happy
policeman.
She also confirmed that the case had been transferred to the state CID , where
it would also be treated as a murder case.
Braide added: "We are not happy with what happened. The State Police Commissioner
has ordered a full investigation to ensure that justice prevails. The police in
the state will not shield anybody from justice!”
