The Police in Lagos State have arrested a nine gang members of kidnappers who
allegedly were behind the kidnap of Ejigbo LCDA Chairman, Bamgbetan. The gang
was also to also be behind the kidnapping of a sitting High Court Judge and
many other notable individuals within and outside Lagos metropolis.
It was gathered that upon receiving information on the kidnappers’ hideout somewhere in Agbara area of Ogun State, a team of SARS men, led by the OC, SP Abba Kyari went to the area and laid ambush for the kidnappers in the bush, around the kidnappers’ hideout.

The ambush paid off around 3.00am on Monday 24
June, 2013 after 72hours, when the kidnappers appeared in a vehicle with a victim
they just kidnapped, an Indian man identified as Vivek Changrani. The white man
was kidnapped in Ikoyi.
It was said that due to the victim inside the vehicle with the kidnappers, SARS team could not open fire but waited till the kidnappers had entered into the building used as their hideout before rounding men up.
According to Kyarri, the kidnappers opened fire on the team when they saw SARS operatives and a heavy gun battle ensued between the kidnappers and SARS operative which led to the killing of seven of the kidnappers while the remaining two, Ogbonna Emenike, 27 and Uchenna Nwanyu, 25.
Four AK 47 rifles, 25, AK 47 Magazines, over 1000, AK 47 Ammunitions, Army Uniforms and a
Honda CRV jeep with Reg. No. ABC 106 AE and a Nissan Pathfinder with Reg. No.
AGL 730 AZ, said to be their operational vehicles and uncountable different
