The Lagos State Police Command has arrested father and son, for allegedly abducting a 19-year-old boy.
The suspects, Alhaji Muhibudeen Akorede and Thoa Akorede, kidnapped the teenager, Mathew Chukwuebuka at Ibadan, Oyo State.

The suspects were further alleged to have denied the victim food for nine days.
The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP) said, the suspects were arrested at Ibadan by operatives of the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), who trailed them there with support from the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU).
Elkana said: “The command had on July 4, received a directive to follow up a petition sent to the Force Headquarters Abuja. The suspects had demanded N30million ransom, which they told the victim’s family to pay into the victim’s account so they could withdraw it, since the boy was with them. The victim told the police that he did not know how he got to Ibadan. He said that everything started happening after he received a call on his mobile phone. He said that on arrival at Ibadan, he was given something from a black pot to eat and he lost his senses. He said they ordered him to surrender his phone to them. The suspects then programmed the phone to reject all incoming calls, except the line they were demanding ransom from. He was taken to an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) point where they withdrew N10, 000 from his account. The suspects also demanded N30million to be paid into the victim’s bank account as ransom. The victim has since been reunited with his family.”
Elkana, however, said that the suspects had been charged to court and remanded in prison custody.
