Woman Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges
Lisa Biron, 43, of Manchester, appeared in United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire today after being arrested by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on an indictment charging her with seven counts of child exploitation, including transportation of a child for illegal sexual conduct and manufacturing and possessing child pornography, announced United States Attorney John P. Kacavas.
Biron was arrested without incident and appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Landya McCafferty, who ordered that Biron remain in federal custody pending her trial, which is presently scheduled for January 8, 2013.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Patrol, and the Manchester Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Helen White Fitzgibbon.
An indictment is only an allegation and not proof of criminal conduct. As in all criminal cases, each defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
