The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Mr Anudumoapo
Abiodun (28), for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl at the Bariga area
of the state.
Abiodun was arrested after the Divisional Police
Officer (DCO) received a complaint from the victim’s mother, insisting that her
little girl had been sexually violated.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer
(PPRO) Bala Elkana, while confirming the arrest, explained that on June 15, at
about 5p.m. policemen from Bariga Police Station received a complaint from the
mother of the victim, that her daughter had been defiled by a neighbour.
Elkana said: “A team of detectives from the Family Support
Unit of the command promptly went after the suspect and arrested him. When the
victim was taken to Ikeja General Hospital for medical treatment, it was
confirmed that the girl had been defiled. Investigation is ongoing and the
suspect would be charged to court soon.”
