The suspect, who is married with children, was arrested at the popular Emerald Lounge, Osongama Estate on Saturday evening. He was alleged to have introduced himself to his victims as the “Special Assistant to the Governor on Employment Matters.”
According to the police, Lazarus uses Emerald Lounge as his venue for defrauding unsuspecting victims. He was also said to have already given fake employment letters to over 100 persons, with over 200 billed to receive their letters on June 17.
The police claimed that the suspect, allegedly and fraudulently collected between N100, 000 to N250.000 from his victims, promising to secure job with Ibom Air for them.
However, luck ran out on him after he attempted to defraud a journalist. It was gathered that on sighting the fake Ibom Air Employment Form, the journalist swiftly alerted the relevant authorities, leading to the arrest of the pastor.
