Police Inspector killed as men in camouflage attack

A Police Inspector, Friday Adams, attached to 17PMF has been killed following an attack on a police team by suspected IPOB/ESN members dressed in camouflage at the Abia State area of the state.

According to a police situation report, dated December 13, sighted by our reporter, the police team fought valiantly and repelled the attackers, but Adams was killed. The killers made away with his gun.

The report states: “Suspected IPOB/ESN members disguised in gun trucks in military camouflage, approached the men at Mopol 28 Gate by the state headquarters. The men (police) mistook them for military men. However, the hoodlums suddenly opened fire on the men on duty, who returned the firing. The hoodlums zoomed off immediately a formidable resistance ensured from the inner cardon in the headquarters. As the cardon advanced to the scene, one Inspector Friday Adams of 17PMF, on OPS Restore Peace Special Duty was found dead where he had pinned down and his rifle is yet to be seen. Corpse immediately removed to FMC Umuahia mortuary. All ACPOL and DPOs have been placed on red alert on the latest modus of these hoodlums. Monitoring continues.”
