was arrested by detectives attached to the Ejigbo Police Station, has confessed
to being into crime since he was 14-year-old, stressing that a certain
spiritual leader was his backbone in carrying out effective robberies.
According to the police, the
suspect, identified as Mr Femi Kazeem, has allegedly been making life
unbearable for residents of the community.
Kazeem, while fielding questions
from the police alleged that most of the items he steals were usually given to
the leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) in Ejigbo.
The suspect reportedly said: “I have
been involved in various kinds of robbery operations within and outside Ejigbo
community in the past five years. The charms recovered from me, were given to
me by my spiritual leader, who is also a member of OPC. The charms make me to
succeed in robbery operations and 20 percent of whatever I made from the
robberies goes to my spiritual leader.”
He further explained that most of
the robbery incidents in Ejigbo were perpetrated by his gang members. This was
even as he claimed to be the leader of the gang as just 19.
He stated: “We have many members.”
The suspect was arrested by a team
of detectives from the station led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), a Chief
Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mrs. Olabisi Okuwobi.
It was further gathered that Okuwobi
and the policemen raced to the scene of the crime after receiving a tip-off
from a concerned member of the public.
After his arrest, police recovered various
kinds of charms from him. The police also recovered a locally made pistol cut
to size, eight expended bullets and different kinds of phones, believed to have
been snatched from unsuspecting members of the public.

operations carried out by us are often backed by politicians and influential
leaders. One of our hideouts is at ‘Agbo Ole,’ a black spot in Ejigbo. I personally
control that area.”
