The Ejigbo
Police Station in Lagos State has arrested 18-year-old Elikor Ehud, for alleged
breaking into Divine Chosen Vine Ministry Church to steal tithes and offerings.
The Lagos
State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, while confirming
the incident and arrest of the suspect, said that Pastor Moses Nwoke of Divine
Chosen Vine Ministry on October 10, at about 7:45p.m, reported at Ejigbo
Station that after church service an unknown person broke the wooden boxes
placed on the altar in their church and carted away the monetary content.
Nwoke told
the Ejigbo Divisional Police Officer (DPO), that the wooden boxes were meant
for tithes and special seeds of faith offering. He disclosed that all the money
in the boxes was stolen.
Elkana
added: “A thorough investigation was conducted by a team of police detectives
from Ejigbo Division. The suspect was later arrested on October 15. He
confessed to the stealing of N670,000,00 from the church Boxes. During
interrogation, the suspect mentioned one Lucky as his accomplice. Efforts are
being made to arrest the fleeing Lucky. However, Ehud, will be charged to court
soonest.”
