One killed as cultist attacked, robbed in Lagos

Cultists, on Wednesday, struck at the Shomolu area of Lagos State, killing a young man. The cult members also embarked on a robbing spree in the area.
The latest victim of the cult clash had been identified as Tunde Lawal, 23.
The deceased, otherwise known as Ogbon around Fadipe Street in Shomolu area, where he was shot dead, was alleged to be a member of a rival cult group.
It was learnt that a group youngsters, armed with guns and wielding other dangerous weapons, believed to be members of Eiye Fraternity from Bariga area, stormed invaded Shomolu, searching for their rivals.

The youths, who were decked out in black T shirts, ransacked the whole of Ajose, the strong base of Eiye Fraternity members in Shomolu.
 Another witness claimed that when the members finally sighted their foes, there was exchange of gun battle and Tunde was killed.
It was also gathered that the gang, whose members killed Tunde, also terrorized residents of Sodimu, Ajose, Anifowose and Fadipe Streets, where they shot sporadically and robbed residents.
The eye witness said that this latest attack at Shomolu was a reprisal attack to an earlier attack by cult members from Shomolu on their rivals from Bariga.
A resident of Shomolu, explained the killers of Tunde actually had people that had come to kill, but took advantage of the situation to rob innocent residents.
It was heard that the cultists, recognized the rival cult members, who had brazenly attacked their base in the afternoon and molested people around the area. It was these people had come for.
The hoodlums invaded Fadipe Street, where they intercepted Tunde and rained bullets on his chest just to make that he was truly dead, before they left the scene.
Policemen from the Alade Police Station were said to have finally came to the scene, only after the battle had been fought and won. The police picked the dead Tunde and left.
