The last may not have been heard about the suspects who kidnapped the Ejigbo council chairman, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan.
Just when people thought the case was about to have a closure, news has filtered in, that policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two soldiers in connection with the kidnap of the Bamigbetan.
The soldiers were arrested after Special Anti-Robbery men, from the command, arrested and killed nine of the kidnappers during a gun battle at the Ijaniki area of the Lagos.
Working on information at their disposal the SARS men had tracked and arrested the two soldiers.
The soldiers were held for providing camouflage uniforms for the suspected kidnappers.
The suspected soldiers are attached to 149 Infantry Battalion, Ojo. They are in Supply and Transport Unit, at the Ojo cantonment.
Immediately they were arrested, the police contacted the army hierarchy and informed them of the arrest and involvement of their men in kidnapping.
The army had carried out internal investigation and discovered that the two men were genuine personnel of their Nigerian Army.
Police authority had since handed them over to the army, for a court martial. Police are also expecting that after the court martial, the army will return the soldiers to them for prosecution.
