The Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission corruption prevention project, Creative Youth
Initiative against Corruption (CYIAC) has concluded plan to launch anticorruption movement in the Diaspora;
which is tagged “Diaspora Nigeria Action
Against Corruption Initiative (DNA Action)”.
The Flag–off event will take place in collaboration with the Association of
Nigerian Professionals in Ireland, Dublin as part of activities for the 2017
National Day Celebration in October.
DNA Action will
broaden the base for a coalition of groups abroad with the primary goal to
tackle corruption, canvass support for EFCC outside Nigeria, work jointly with
experts to move Nigeria up on the Corruption index table – (CPI & TI). The
group will further create a platform for discourse on the benefits of ridding
Nigeria of corruption and support the anti-corruption
preventionve
measures as it relates to children and youth reorientation.
The Europe
Director of DNA Action, Mr. Olajide Ademola Ajayi says there is no better time
than now for
Diaspora Nigerians to get involved in the advocacy against corruption requisite
to movee the Nation
forward.
, tThe group is
currently reaching out to Nigeria communities worldwide for global campaign
against corruption. DNA Action will facilitate town hall meetings in major countries
across all continents (Asia, America, South America, Oceania etc) in collaboration with the Nigerian
embassies
The CYIaC is aimed at
sensitizing children and youth on the ills of corruption through creative
development, self-awareness and reorientation.,
Tthe
laudable initiative was flagged off in October 4, 2016 in Abuja by the EFCC
Chairman, it
has since reacheded out to
thousands of children and youth with a vision and overriding message foron a new Nigeria Free From Corruption. The 2017
Nationwide program will commence by September 1, 2017. The project is designed
to empower millions of Nigeria Children and Youth in six geopolitical zones in
Nigeria; It’s tagged “Corruption, Not in my DNA”.
According to Foluke Michael, Project Director, CYIAC is seeking to build a
sustainable anti-corruption movement and
institution that will in turn complement and boost
the
efforts of the EFCC various through creative
initiative developed for children and youth to fight corruption in Nigeria.
Foluke expresses appreciation to Consulate General of the Federal
Republic of Germany and Nigeria Stock Exchange for supporting CYIaC whilst
calling on more corporate organisations and International bodies to partner with
EFCC –CYIAC to eradicatekill corruption and
corrupt practices ion diseases currently ravaging the
Nation.
