Fake NYSC confesses forging call up letter



The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a fake corps member at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of the state.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),  DSP Chukwu Ikechukwu, based on intelligence received by detectives at the orientation camp, policemen swung into action and arrested Mr. Justice Orlu Ordu, an indigene of Ikwere in Rivers State. He was picked up in Monday Uko’s Hostel in the orientation camp.
Ikechukwu said: “On interrogation, he admitted being a fake corps member. He said that he forged NYSC call-up letter, calming to have graduated from University of Uyo, department of Architecture. He will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.”
The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police,   Zubairu Muazu,  has reassured members of the public that the Command had put in place intelligence led policing in its effort to reduce crime in the state.
“It is important to emphasis that crime prevention and control is a collective responsibility,” said Muazu
