15 ships to discharge petroleum products at Lagos port

FIFTEEN ships are waiting to discharge petroleum products at the various oil terminals within the Lagos ports, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said.
 NPA, in its daily publication, “Shipping Position”, made available to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos, said that five of the ships would discharge petrol and four would discharge diesel.
 The document further indicated that two ships would discharge kerosene; three, aviation fuel; while one other ship would discharge ethanol.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that other ships would arrive with rice, bulk sugar, general cargoes, wheat, gypsum, palm oil, base oil, steel products and petroleum products.
The document also showed that 20 ships would arrive with containers; while 16 would arrive with both used and new vehicles.
NAN also reported that 20 ships are presently discharging containers, wheat, general cargo, rice, steel products, sugar, and petroleum products.
NPA said that 11 ships were waiting to discharge wheat, bulk sugar, fertiliser and rice. The document showed that 68 ships carrying different cargoes would sail into the ports between Jan. 3 and Jan. 28.
NPA indicated that 13 of the expected ships would arrive with petroleum products.
