Police hunt for mystery killer of UBA staff

Homicide detectives of the State’s Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, are currently turning the Bariga area of Lagos, State, upside down, searching for the killer(s) of a UBA staff.
The victim, Mr. Adindu Ohamara, was found in a pool of his blood, on April 19, 2013, in his room, at the Bariga area of the state. He had been stabbed several times over.
Detectives who went to the scene, to condone off the crime scene, said there were several signs of a struggle in the room.
Police have arrested about six persons in connection, with the crime, including the victims elder sister.
The victim was supposed to get marry by next month.
It was gathered that Ohamara, in his 30s, lived in a three bed room flat with his elder flora. They had also given one of the rooms to one Collins, a UNILAG undergraduate, to be squatting with them. Collins is a friend to the deceased.
It was also heard that on the fateful day that Ohamara met his death, he had returned home from office with a total stranger.
According to the security guard at the gate, Oharama and the stranger arrived in the deceased’s car.
And Oharama drove into the compound with his friend, just as his elder sister, Flora, was inserting her key into the door to unlock it.
The woman had made a beeline for her room, while Oharama went into his own room with his visitor.
At about 10:30pm, Collins returned and for reasons nobody could say, went to Oharama’s room to charge his ipad.
Collins later told detectives that he met the stranger, sitting on Oharama’s bed, discussing with him.
After Collins plunged his ipad, he was about to walk out, when Oharama asked him if he would not say hello to his visitor. Collins said hello and left.
About three hours later, Collins said he returned to the room, to ask Oharama if he should switch off the generating, set, only to find the deceased on the floor of the room, unconscious. He had been stabbed several times over and he was left in a pool of his blood.
The stranger was nowhere to be seen. It was also discovered that Oharama’s laptop and phones had been taken away.
Collins alerted Flora, who had been in her room. Though the Oharama was badly hurt, but he appeared to be breathing. He was rushed to hospital, but died on the way.
How the stranger disappeared was a mystery, as the security guard insisted that he did not see the man leaving through the gate.
The police have arrested some tenants in the compound, including Flora, Collins and the security guard.
Detectives are working on the theory that the deceased might have been a homosexual, killed by a jealous lover.
It is also believed that he might be lover to Collins. Everything at this time is mere conjectures.
Investigation continues.
