Four men were arrested on suspicion of murder today after a man died following an incident at a nightclub in Cornwall.
The 49-year-old victim has been named by friends as Mick Kearns, a keen angler from Birmingham, a website reported.

and paramedics were called to the popular Sailors club in Newquay at
3am this morning where officers and a forensic team cordoned off the
area

large pool of blood in the street was spotted outside the club. Early
reports said the man had been stabbed, but this was denied by Sergeant
Regie Butler of Newquay Police.
The victim was taken to Royal Cornwall
Hospital in Truro where he later died. The four suspects were being
held at Newquay Police Station
Anne Marie Phillips from the Upper Crust bakery next to the nightclub told This Is Cornwall of her shock over the murder.
She said: 'There might be a scrap outside the front but nothing like this. I'm very shocked - it's absolutely terrible.'

The Mayor of Newquay, Kevin
Towill, said: 'I'm shocked and saddened to hear of this news.I would
like to send my condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
'I'm sure the police will carry out a through investigation into what happened.'

Butler posted on Twitter: 'It is worth reminding people this is very
rare in Newquay and the number of assaults fell last year.'
Police urged any witnesses to call 101 quoting log 159.
