Reece Elliott, 24, from South Shields, today
admitted threatening to kill 'at least 200' American school children in a
series of vile Facebook messages
Father-of-one Reece Elliott, 24, of South Shields, South Tyneside, today confessed to going on a tribute site for a 17-year-old Tennessee girl who was killed in a car accident and leaving a series of terrifying messages under an assumed name.
One post on the RIP Caitlin Talley page read: 'My father has three guns. I'm planning on killing him first and putting him in a dumpster.
'Then I'ma taking the motor and going in fast. I'm gonna kill hopefully at least 200 before I kill myself.'
'So you wanna tell deputy I'm on my way.'
The threats caused mass panic in Warren County, Tennessee, and saw 3,000 students reportedly absent from school the next day, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
The messages were posted in February this year, just weeks after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
The Newtown shooting left 20 children and six adults dead, and parents across the US in a heightened state of anxiety about school shootings.
Today Elliott pleaded guilty to making a threat to kill a woman named Emily Brewer and eight offences of sending grossly offensive messages, which cover the threats to kill, under the Communications Act.
The court heard that one of his messages said: 'I'm killing 200 people minimum at school. I will be on CNN.'
Another said of the popular Warren County High School pupil, who died in an accident in October 2012: 'I'm glad the fat bitch is dead. Let's drink to drink driving. No-one gives a s*** that she's dead, get over it.
'If I was there now I would rape you,' the message read.
Comments on other pages included: 'The f****** fat c*** deserves death.'
'Hip hurray, he's dead. Huge brain injury haha.'
'Haha so f****** funny he's dead'
'Think about her body and smile, splattered all over the road hahaha.'

Elliott will be sentenced during the week commencing June 10 after the preparation of reports, including a psychiatric report.
Four charges of making a threat to kill, which Elliott denied, will be dropped by the prosecution.
Around 3,000 schoolchildren stayed home from school in Warren County after Elliott posted his online threats
'That will be reflected in the sentence.'
Judge Goss remanded Elliott in custody, warning him: 'The judge warned him: "You will remain in custody until the sentence hearing and I am sure you will appreciate the offences to which you entered pleas of guilty are serious matters and of course a prison sentence is the inevitable
sentence in respect of these offences.'
