Alleged deportation: Businessman drags Fashola, Ipaye to court

Alleged deportation: Businessman drags Fashola, Ipaye to courtBy Juliana Francis
A Lagos based businessman, Osondu Agwuogo and the President of Paths of Peace Initiative, Comrade Dandy Eze, have dragged the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola alongside the state’s Attorney General (AG) and Justice Commissioner, Mr. Ade Ipaye, before a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, over allegation of forceful deportation of Agwuogo from the state.
The plaintiffs therefore want the court to declare that the alleged forceful removal of the first applicant from the state is illegal, unconstitutional and blatant violation of Agwuogo’s right to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof.
Agwuogo in the suit number ID/736m/13 also wants the court to declare that his arrest at Ojota, detention at Alausa for over two months and subsequent dumping in Onitsha, Anambra State is unconstitutional.
He also wants an Order of the court, ordering the award of ten million naira (N10, 000,000.00) as damages for his alleged illegal and forceful deportation from Lagos.
