MAN JUMPS INSIDE WELL OVER DEBT

Tragedy struck at Concord area of Oke-Omiru, Ilesa, Osun State when a sixty-year old man, who is a dealer in building materials committed suicide by jumping into a well.
The victim popularly known as ‘Sunre’ which translates to ‘sleep well’ refused to sleep well when in the early hours of Wednesday, he  took his life by jumping inside the well of one of his neighbours.
The prosperous dealer in building materials at Adeti Street in the heart of Ilesa was said to have attempted to jump into his residence well on 15th October 2013 but was stopped by his family against such act.
It was gathered that Pa sunre who is blessed with grown-up well to do children had gone to the house of his neighbor where he eventually terminated his life on Sallah day to felicitate with them and had a good time unknown to residents that he had certain surprise up his sleeve.
His remains was discovered at about 6:00am by a resident who had gone to draw water from the well and consequently raised the alarm that drew other members of the neighbourhood to the scene. Further investigation revealed that the deceased was said to have disclosed to some people before his death that he owed someone in Abuja the sum of #350,000 and was unable to pay.
Family members were said to have persuaded him not to do anything nasty counseling him that all will soon be well but ignored them and consequently carried out his suicide mission despite all the persuasion from his well wishers.

It took the combined effort of the Osun State Fire Service, residents and the police to recover the remains of the deceased and deposit same at a morgue in Ilesa.

Osun State Command of the Nigerian Police who confirmed the tragic event through its Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro disclosed that a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police officer ‘A’ Division Ilesa quickly moved to the scene where the corpse was removed.
She further disclosed that investigation has commenced on the circumstances that led to the death of the old man adding that the family said they suspect no foul play as to the cause of the death of Sunre.
